We're Ready
Many Families Miss Out on Aid & Attendance Benefits
Every year, thousands of eligible veterans, spouses, and surviving spouses miss out on the VA Aid and Attendance benefit simply because they don't realize they qualify.
The VA Aid and Attendance benefit is a monthly VA pension benefit designed to help cover the cost of long-term care and assistance with daily living. Many families assume VA benefits only apply to disability compensation, when in reality this program exists specifically to support aging veterans and surviving spouses who require help with everyday activities.
These funds can often be used to help pay for:
• In-home caregiving or personal care assistance
• Assisted living or senior care communities
• Help with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Home health aides and caregiving support
For many families, the VA Aid and Attendance benefit can significantly reduce the financial burden of long-term care while helping veterans receive the support they deserve.
At Operation Veterans Edge, we help families determine eligibility and guide them through the process of securing the Aid and Attendance benefits their loved ones may have earned through military service.

Who May Qualify for the VA Aid and Attendance Benefit
VA Aid & Attendance is a pension benefit designed to help wartime veterans, spouses, and surviving spouses who need assistance with daily living activities. While every case is unique, eligibility typically depends on four key factors.
Wartime Service
The veteran must have served at least 90 days of active duty, with at least one day during a recognized wartime period, and received a discharge other than dishonorable.
Recognized wartime periods include:

Medical Need for Assistance
The veteran or spouse must require help with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, mobility, medication management, or other personal care needs.
Financial Eligibility
Aid & Attendance is a needs-based VA pension benefit, meaning eligibility is determined in part by income, assets, and qualifying medical expenses.
Care Environment
